Get a Library Card at the Library

We are happy to help you in person to register for a library card. The process is:

  1. Check here to determine whether you live within the Library District boundaries.
  2. Either download, print, and fill out the application, or come in and we'll provide the application.
  3. Furnish proper identification.
    • Proper identification is an official picture ID verifying the person's name and address, such as a driver's license, state ID, passport, or military ID.
    • If the picture ID does not also display a current address that proves residency in the District, a second form of ID is required, such as a utility bill, voter's card, credit card bill, bank statement, etc.

Until age 18, patrons must have a parent or legal guardian furnish proof of residency, and the minor applicant must be present when issuing the card.

The District will perform periodic address verification on all accounts. You may check your address to see if you are a resident in the White Oak Library District at the Will County Supervisor of Assessments website or the Will County Clerk website.

You may download a Library card application here in English, y descarga la applicación en español. Simply print the form, fill in the information, and bring it to the library at your convenience.
