The Scoop on the Reading Challenge

New this year -- all ages use the same BINGO card! Reading, attending programs, completing a challenge, writing a really short book review, even a random act of kindness -- they all count on your BINGO card.

The Children's Challenge

Ages birth to 6th grade (this Fall)

Every child spins the prize wheel when they sign up and every time they complete a BINGO! Every child receives a book for completing the first BINGO. Fill in all of the squares, and kids receive an entry ticket into the basket drawing, a certificate of completion, and an invitation to the Read Big Party on July 22nd at Dellwood Park.

The Teen Challenge

Teens & tweens in grades 6 to 12 (this Fall)

Complete the challenge and you will choose a book to keep and enter the drawing for a chance at one of the following: a Nintendo NEW 3DS XL, a prize basket (one basket at each branch) or a PS4 Guitar Hero.

The Adult Challenge

Everyone else! We won't ask your age. Complete the challenge by getting a BINGO -- just one line on the card. You'll receive a book for yourself and an entry for a Kindle Fire HD10 tablet (one at each branch).

The Outreach Challenge

For members of a senior living community served by Outreach Services.
You may choose to participate at your lobby stop and/or in the Library. Yes, you can double dip! For more information, talk to Tina, Jenny, or David when you see them next.

And, here's a fun video that was created in the Kelvin Grove School LRC by videographer/Library Media Specialist Sharon Bruemmer in cooperation with White Oak Library staff. We show this video during our Summer Reading Challenge visits at the schools to get children interested in the program. Feel free to share it on social media.
