Our first STEM Fest had over 500 attendees and we're already planning for NEXT YEAR!

Science is awesome!

That was the message for kids and adults who attended the White Oak Library District’s STEM Fest 2017! on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at our Romeoville Branch Library. We welcomed families, scout troops, teachers, and students of all ages and had a fantastic day of science.

Over 500 people attended our very first STEM Fest and everyone enjoyed presentations from Northern Illinois University STEM Outreach Department and Magician Steve Belliveau.

We enjoyed a day of outstanding hands-on activities and engaging demonstrations from Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) leaders and innovators. Fun, stimulating activities from SciTech Museum of Aurora, Northern Illinois University’s STEM Outreach Department, Elmhurst’s Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art, 3D Universe, Will County Children’s Museum, Fermilab high-energy particle physics research facility, Lewis University, Joliet Junior College and many, many more exhibitors were on hand.

White Oak Library District was able to hold our STEM Fest because of a generous grant provided by C.I.T.G.O. We'd also like to thank the Friends of the White Oak Library District for their continued support.

We received wonderful raffle prizes from: Chibitronics, Facebook, Home Science Tools, Learning Resources, LogicRoots, Makey Makey, Osmo, Piper, Sci-Tech Hands on Museum, Squishy Circuits, Tinkering Lab, and Wow Wee.
